Lee is the MD and has worked at AES since 1996 after leaving school, having worked his way up through the company progressing from the in house apprenticeship scheme. He has been with his wife (and co-director) Gillian for a similar length of time, of which they have been married since 2006. With 2 children (Grace and Eve), Lee enjoys spending time with his family and socialising, going on holidays and meeting new people. In his spare time he loves endurance sports particularly running and swimming. Lee has run several marathons and he is currently training for an English Channel solo crossing attempt!

Gill is a Director of AES and has been married to Lee since 2006. They have worked hard together to build the company to what it is today with Gill mainly overseeing the Accounts Department, HR and Health and Safety, although Gill is currently on maternity leave following the birth of their second daughter. Gill enjoys spending quality time with family and their dog Chester. She also enjoys travelling and exploring new countries.

Mark is one of the longest serving members of staff having been with us since 2005! In all that time he still enjoys the fact that no two days are the same! He enjoys working with a great set of people (with very little staff churn) and particularly likes working in the newly refurbished premises. Mark is a family man and enjoys his downtime with his wife, 2 kids and family dog. He coaches his son’s football team and enjoys watching his favourite team – Manchester United.

Carl focuses on delivering some of AES more specialist services and has been with the business since 1999. What he enjoys most about working at AES is meeting people and getting involved in a wide variety of different projects. Outside of work Carl likes to spend time with his family, go the gym and socialising.

In-house Apprentices

At AES, we think we’re a class act when it comes to apprentices. More than half of our employees have all been through an apprenticeship programme whilst at our company – that must be one of the highest in the industry.

As well as completing their apprenticeships whilst at AES, they have then stayed on at the end of their scheme – a great sign that they value the support we have given them and like working for us.

Each year we invest in new apprentices as we continue to expand as a business. Each apprentice attends the City and Guilds course in Electrical Installation at Huddersfield Technology College.
