Sector: Manufacturer (mattresses)

Service: Factory Extension Consultancy & Installation

AES’s experience and knowledge enabled the project to be managed very successfully. By carrying out all containment work and cabling run in the same phase ensured less contractors required, saving both time, money and possible aggravation.

Challenges

The company was facing a tight timescale to complete a new extension to the factory intended for the storage of finished products, including additional loading docks. This was due to come online for operational reasons but facing challenges because of the nature of the building and access for construction purposes. First, it was very tight on space, making it difficult for multiple contractors to work at the same time, because the majority of the installation and fitting out required was aerial work.

Solution

Acting as consultants, AES stepped in installed all the electrical services, which included the design and fit out of internal and external lighting; they also provided all the containment and cabling requirements for the fire, intruder alarms, access control and CCTV systems in addition to the heating, data cabling, music and PA systems. The building contractors began digging out the foundations in May and AES were able to begin their work in September. The unit was operational by October and AES then completed the car park and other exterior lighting in November, including LED lighting for new signage on the buildings.

Background

I’m very happy with the end result,” says John Berry. “AES did the lighting design and selected and made proposals for the light fittings that matched our requirements in terms of loom levels. It was a top-class job. I’d be very happy to use AES again and certainly happy to recommend them to other customers or prospective customers. We look forward to doing business with them in the future.
