Test and Inspection (Periodic)

In order to comply with the Electricity at Work Regulation 1989, companies have to maintain a
regular schedule of inspection and testing of all its electrical systems and electrical equipment.
We believe that our range of test and inspection services are the ideal way to help companies achieve
compliance.

All our personnel who are involved in carrying out Test and Inspection Services are both certified and experienced electricians who hold as a minimum 16th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and inspection and testing certification. Our electrical engineers carry out the test and inspection using the most up to date and technically advanced equipment to achieve the most accurate verification on the safety of electrical systems. To maintain accuracy of the equipment it is regularly calibrated in accordance with HS(R), Regulation 4(4).

Test & Inspection of Electrical Installations

A survey of the site and the existing installation will be carried out, inclusive of external earth loop impedance and prospective fault current. A checklist style schedule will be used to identify the items that will undergo a usual inspection. The actual tests will be undertaken using appropriate test equipment.

The test results will then be presented as a document with any remedial recommendations. Network and circuit drawings are also presented in document form showing details of distribution boards and their circuit designation, type, breaking capacity, fuse size and details of earth loop impedance and measured values of prospective fault current.

Inspection & Testing of Portable Appliances

Bespoke testing packages are offered to customers, which take into consideration the following factors. The ability to develop a programme that causes minimal disruption and can work around the production schedules of an organisation, determining the frequency of the test and inspection based on the environment and equipment usage and the individual companies requirements and needs.

On completion of testing at the customer’s premises, a report is produced and presented as a bound document. This will detail information on the test instruments used and calibration compliance. All of the equipment tested will be listed and is normally grouped by location and can be identified by a serial number logging system. A failed items list will also be clearly listed. Finally the report will have a table of test results which is laid out to be user friendly. Certification will also be issued with each report.
